Description

Provide rides to places like doctor and dentist appointments, the grocery store, the pharmacy...wherever people need to go within Delaware County. Build relationships and feel a sense of fulfillment while connecting people to valuable resources in your community!

A volunteer in Delaware County will drive the RTA Delaware County Connections minivan, which only requires a Chauffeur's license. No testing is required, just visit your local DMV to upgrade your license for a small fee.  RTA will reimburse you for the fee.

Once you have passed the background check and you are approved as a volunteer, the RTA (through Delaware County Community Services) will contact you for available rides. It’s extremely flexible. You determine your schedule!

To get started, complete the Volunteer Driver Application and return to Tricia Wagner, twagner@ecia.org, or mail to:

Inclement Weather Plan: As a general rule, The RTA will follow the lead of the county school bus service. When Manchester Schools are cancelled, delayed or let out early due to bad weather and hazardous road conditions, the RTA will do the same for out of town routes. Manchester “in town” bus service will not follow the school systems, but will continue service to the degree possible, consistent with reasonable safety, during inclement weather conditions. Due to the number of clients that ride routes between Manchester and Dyersville, City of Dyersville will follow the Manchester Schools.
