The best part of the holiday season is giving—and what better way to give than by keeping your community warm and happy? As a Hot Chocolate Maker, you’ll be behind the scenes at A Merry Millwork Market, crafting the rich, comforting cocoa that keeps visitors smiling and spirits bright.
You’ll mix and prepare big batches of hot chocolate, help keep the concession stand stocked, and make sure there’s always a warm cup ready for someone to enjoy. Two of you will be stirring up the next batch downstairs, while one volunteer acts as the “runner,” delivering the fresh cocoa upstairs to the booth and lending a hand where needed. It’s a perfect fit for anyone who loves a good rhythm—stirring, pouring, tasting, and sharing in the satisfaction of teamwork that makes everything run seamlessly. You’ll get to see how small, simple actions—like handing off a freshly filled dispenser—add up to something that warms hundreds of hearts throughout the evening.

Please arrive at the Courtyard Entrance Welcome Booth, midway between Jackson and Washington Streets on 10th Street, at the start of your shift. This is where you’ll check in, meet your team, and get any materials or instructions from the Volunteer Manager, Theresa, before your shift begins.
