Who We Are
The Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is a private nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer board of directors. We serve a seven county area in East Central Iowa; Linn, Benton, Jones, Jackson, Dubuque, Delaware and Clinton. We are one of the oldest and largest treatment agencies in the state of Iowa. ASAC was first formed in 1978. We are licensed to provide comprehensive prevention and treatment services to combat the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Our services follow the continuum of care beginning with prevention and intervention and moving through the various levels of treatment.
What We Do
Help individuals, families, workplaces and communities prevent, treat and recover from substance misuse and abuse.
