This is How we BBQ in DBQ has been coordinated with the Dubuque Day of Peace festival since 2012. It will be on Sunday 17 September 2023 at the Kehl Center of Clarke University and is Sponsored by Clarke University & Dubuque Branch NAACP. This community Barbeque is an event where residents can bond and engage with different cultures through free food catered from a variety of local vendors. A live DJ will play family-friendly music. Community organizations, not-for-profit groups, and businesses can have free tables to hand out information. The event itself is from 1 to 4pm, but we need volunteers to sign up for shifts to help with set-up, serving food, and checking people in. Below are the shift opportunities. We need 8 people for each shift. When you sign up, pleae indicate which shift you want.
- Set-up 11am - 1pm
- Food Serving 1pm - 3pm
- Serving & Taking Down 3pm - 5m
